An investigation of Emotional Intelligence and the use of Online Social Media tools in organisations (#EISM Report)

The use of Online Social Media tools in organisations is on the rise. With email approaching saturation levels in terms of usage, attention is now shifting to other forms of Online Social Media. We tend to think of online communication as devoid of emotion and as a result we often neglect to consider the impact of these conversations.

The aim of this project is to better understand how emotions expressed through online channels of communication can affect our private and work lives and how so. We bring together for the first time an investigation of Emotional Intelligence levels and online communication and the effects they have on each other.
